Wednesday of Christmas in July

What a great day at camp! We started the day with polar bear plunge- a great way to wake up!

Breakfast was delicious – breakfast tacos, cereal, yogurt, and fruit! We started our day with chapel and then headed out and about. It was a hot, sunny and fabulous all day!

Cabins were busy with activities- swimming, sports, archery, and arts and crafts. And then we came together for a prayer service. We’re not just a community that plays together, we’re a community that PRAYS together too! Father Doug from St. Cloud came to celebrate mass with us. Afterwards, we headed down to the mud pit for some tug-o-war, followed by jumping in the mud, and then running down to the beach to wash off.

Lunch was pulled pork sandwiches, jojo potatoes, fruit, and salad bar. And then it was time for some rest time and afternoon activities. The weather was hot and sunny and a perfect summer day! All of the activities were busy- drama was practicing for the talent show, sports was playing basketball, there was archery, arts and crafts (working on bead necklaces), swimming and more!

Dinner was fetuccine alfredo with chicken, bread sticks, veggies and salad bar. For dessert, campers got to frost their own Christmas cookies.

Usually right after dinner, we have Prime Time (the camp store is open, gaga ball, carpet ball, games, and relaxing), but tonight we had an extra special activity before that. The Counselors-in-Training program planned a fun game where campers had to run around and find hidden reindeer around camp. It was a wild and fun time. And then it was time for visiting the camp store, playing gaga and relaxing.

Now it’s the night everyone is always waiting for- the dance party! The disco ball is shining, the music will be blasting and the campers and staff will be dancing their hearts out! We still have plenty of energy to burn, so this dance party is needed!

We will end the day with praise and worship in the chapel. High energy songs to celebrate our faith and close out the day!
