Wednesday- Multi Adventure Challenge Week

What a busy day at CYC!

After breakfast morning chapel and cabin activities cabins were geared up for another challenge! Cabins traveled around camp completing a variety of challenges to earn chips that each had a letter on them. Here were the stations-

First 2 campers had to use water guns to shoot a block of ice to retrieve 2 keys that had been frozen inside. Once they had the keys they handed them off to the next campers who had to attempt to open a variety of boxes that were locked.

When they opened both boxes and retrieved their chips the cabin was able to head to the swim beach where two campers had to search in the shallow end for two bags of chips. Once they found the chips four more campers could pick up a canoe and run to Sunset beach to launch two more campers into the water.

Those two campers had to canoe from Sunset Beach to the boating bay. Along the way they had canoed out to Camp Director Natalie who was stationed in the middle in a kayak. She gave the canoers their next bag of chips. When the canoers got to the boating bay the whole cabin ran to the field where the last two campers unscrambled the ships to spell out "Success is Sweet!"

The Blues Brothers came in first for the first time in challenges followed closely by the Red team the yellow team and the green team!

Lunch was a camp favorite (pulled pork sandwiches!) and then it was time for afternoon activities!

There were so many things going on today! The art group was busy with clay sculptures the canoe/kayak group played "follow the leader" around the lake and worked on improving their strokes the fishing group didn’t catch any fish but they played a great game of fish trivia while on the boat waiting for fish. The dance group worked on their routine for the talent show and campfire cooking made bread in a dutch oven over the campfire!

After dinner (super nachos!) cabins were ready for another challenge! They headed to the field to compete in a strength challenge. However due to the soccer nets being less strong than previously thought the challenge was postponed and everyone headed to chapel for Praise and Worship.

Luckily a little prayer was all we needed and when the campers returned to the field there was a new challenge waiting. Campers had to stack dishes on top of a round surface. There were 4 rounds of this challenge allowing each camper a chance to test his/her stacking ability. John M was our overall winner in a photo finish.

Our day wasn’t over yet though! We headed to Sweeney and turned on the disco ball blasted the music and let loose at the FABULOUS dance party! And you better believe these kids can dance!

After the dance party we danced our way down to the beach where we had a campfire roasted marshmallows some night swimming and hang out time. Even the camp dogs hung out for a while.

It has been quite a day and we can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
