Tuesday- Multi Adventure Challenge Week

What a perfect day at CYC!  Once again we started the day with fishing yoga run club calisthenics and polar bear plunge.

After breakfast flag raising and morning chapel (or ‘C’ of the day is Christ) we headed to cabin activities. It was perfect for a morning filled with archery canoeing sports nature swimming and much more.

And then it was time for our second MULTI ADVENTURE CHALLENGE!!

Like yesterday cabins moved from challenge to challenge with a few campers competing in each station. Here were the stations-

1.     M&M- 2 campers will retrieve a M&M out of a dish of pudding (using only their mouth).

2.     Tomahawk- 2 campers will each pop a balloon with a tomahawk

3.     Ball toss- 2 campers will use a beach towel to toss a ball into a hula hoop

4.     Boiling Water- 4 campers will collect wood collect a pan of water build a fire and get water to boil.

5. Raise your hand- 2 campers will keep their arm above their head holding onto a rope that is connected to a bucket. When their arm lowers the bucket of water will fall.

It was a race to complete the first four and then it was a battle of wills to see who could keep their arm up the longest. Carolyn B from the green team was the ultimate competitor today and the 14.5 Men (green team) came in first!

After a delicious lunch followed by some cabin rest time campers divided into individual activities. The drama groups worked on their skits for the talent show the arts and crafts kids were making mosaics and baskets the sports group played several water games on the field fishers fished swimmers swam campers shot archery/slingshots/and thew tomahawks canoers canoed campfire cooking made pudgie pies and survival skills built a fire! It was a busy afternoon!

We had dinner and then it was time for yet another challenge- this time it was the balance challenge. All of the campers stood on narrow logs with plates balancing on their heads. After a few minutes a cup was added then they had to stand on one leg close their eyes etc. Our campers have amazing balance so it ultimately came down to a footrace between three members of the green team- Maggie M Celia G and Carolyn B and a member of the yellow team Alissa D. Celia G won it for the green team!

As if we hadn’t already packed enough activity into the day after cabin time we sang and cheered our way down to the friendship circle for the tuesday campfire. We sang our cabin cheers (showing SO much spirit!) were entertained by a hilarious counselor show and sang lots of songs. After the campfire we are excited for a late night ice cream social!

We are having a blast and excited for more adventures tomorrow.
