Wednesday of Week 1!

What a gorgeous, hot, sunny perfect day at camp! We started the day with polar bear plunge- not nearly as chilly as the last few days, but still a great way to wake up!

Breakfast was delicious – bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches! We started our day with chapel and then headed out and about. It was a hot, sunny and fabulous all day!

Cabins were busy with activities- swimming, sports, archery, and arts and crafts. And then we welcomed Father Dale from Ascension, who joined us to celebrate mass. We’re not just a community that plays together, we’re a community that PRAYS together too! It was great to see a familiar face at camp and fun to have him with us for the whole morning. After mass, we headed down to the mud pit for some tug-o-war, followed by jumping in the mud, and then running down to the beach to wash off.

Lunch was turkey melt sandwiches, fries, fruit, and salad bar. And then it was time for some rest time and afternoon activities. The weather was hot and sunny and a perfect summer day! All of the activities were busy- drama was practicing for the talent show, sports was playing basketball, there was archery, arts and crafts (working on bead necklaces), swimming and more!

Dinner was baked chicken, au gratin potatoes, veggies and lemon bars for dessert.

Now we have Prime Time (the camp store is open, gaga ball, carpet ball, games, and relaxing), then it’s the night everyone is always waiting for- the dance party! The disco ball is shining, the music will be blasting and the campers and staff will be dancing their hearts out! We still have plenty of energy to burn, so this dance party is needed!

We will end the day with praise and worship in the chapel. High energy songs to celebrate our faith and close out the day!

"What camp means to me is learning about God, making friends and having fun. But the most important thing is being yourself. We have lots of fun at camp. The counselors are great, the friends are nice, the themes are awesome, and the games rule! When I grow too old to come to camp I want to be a camp counselor, but for now, I will enjoy the fun at camp. See you this year!" - Josh
