Wednesday of Crazy Days

Crazy Days…

Well this week is certainly living up to its name. It has been a crazy few days here at CYC!

This morning campers returned from the overnight. A little soggy and pretty tired the groups were allowed hot showers a quick meal and mandatory nap time. When these things were announced a faint cry went up among the campers. One shouted "civilization" as he once again walked into a bathroom with running water.

It wasn’t all dragging feet though. Everyone bounced back pretty quick and soon it was off to afternoon activities. Campers could be heard drumming splashing and crafting and the afternoon went by in a blur. Before we knew it it was time for dinner then praise and worship and just after that the dance party.

The dance as a whole went over smashingly. Campers used the new disco ball to its full potential and danced the night away in Sweeney Lodge. By now campers are back in their cabins and the only noise emanating out into the woods are the snores of tired campers.

Of course the week isn’t over. An adventure activity tomorrow has campers guessing and of course the talent show and movie night are creating quite a buzz!

"What camp means to me is learning about God, making friends and having fun. But the most important thing is being yourself. We have lots of fun at camp. The counselors are great, the friends are nice, the themes are awesome, and the games rule! When I grow too old to come to camp I want to be a camp counselor, but for now, I will enjoy the fun at camp. See you this year!" - Josh
