Tuesday of Teen Week

Today was such a great day!

We began the day with early morning activities and polar bear plunge and then it was time for breakfast (french toast sticks!).  Morning chapel was next (charity was the ‘C’ of the day) and then one hour of cabin activities. Cabins were canoeing, playing sports, working on arts and crafts, fishing, and swimming. Then we all headed down to the beach for a rocking beach party with music.

Lunch was chicken nuggets, sweet potato fries and green beans. Then it was off to our cabins for some rest time.

This afternoon was gorgeous sunny-literally the most perfect weather it could be. The lake was calm- perfect for the paddle boarders and canoers! Archers were shooting, arts and crafts crafting. There was drama, fishing, and swimming.

For our color war activity, cabins had a challenge! We set up a scene with items from around camp. It was hidden and only 2 people per team could look at it. They had to tell the rest of their team what items to go collect. The runners had to run all over camp to collect the items. And then the builders had to assemble the scene exactly as we’d set it up. The logo on the paint bottle facing out, the buckles on the lifejacket exact, everything at the right angle. For every time the teams needed to look again, they had to take a 1 minute penalty. Ellie and Becca’s green team took the win! They worked well together, communicated and paid close attention to detail. All teams eventually completed the challenge!

Dinner was tacos, black beans and spanish rice.

But the fun wasn’t over yet! After prime time (which includes games, camp store time, hanging out in the sky chairs, etc), it was time to head to the Friendship Circle for a campfire! We sang tons of songs each cabin performed their cabin cheer and then we made some yummy s’mores! It’s teen week, so we’re making SUPER s’mores, which include chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, strawberry sauce, and sprinkles to add on, elevating a regular s’more. After everyone had enjoyed a s’more, counselors put on some awesome counselor skits that were hilarious! It was lots of fun!

After that it was time to raise the roof in praise and worship- singing so loud you could probably hear us across the lake!

It was a great day at camp!!

"What camp means to me is learning about God, making friends and having fun. But the most important thing is being yourself. We have lots of fun at camp. The counselors are great, the friends are nice, the themes are awesome, and the games rule! When I grow too old to come to camp I want to be a camp counselor, but for now, I will enjoy the fun at camp. See you this year!" - Josh
