Thursday of Messy Week

What a fantastic day! Gorgeous weather tons of activities and to start it all off it was SUPER BIRTHDAY day!! We were celebrating 4 birthdays today so the entire staff helped march in to the birthday song and we sang a SUPER version of happy birthday to Jaeda Collin Jakob and Jason! Their tables got to go first in line for meals they got to go first at the camp store and they all got free ice cream from the camp store!

This morning after our favorite sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches chapel (‘C’ of the day is community!) and first cabin activity everyone headed to the mud pit for a good old fashioned tug-o-war. Afterwards each cabin got to jump into the mud pit and get covered in messy gooey mud! And then we ran down to the beach to wash off!

Next up it was time for messy stations- campers made silly putty played in moon sand (flour and oil which makes a cool soft mixture that you can build like sand) blew bubbles and helped bury Program Director Will in the sand!

Lunch was meatball sandwiches and tater tots and of course birthday cake and then it was a short rest and then it was back to individual activities where each activity was busy swimming canoeing playing sports finishing up the newspaper finalizing plans for the dance and drama at the talent show tonight cooking apple pie over the campfire in cooking and making puppets in arts and crafts!

Dinner was quesadillas and then it was time for some cabin free time.

Both boys cabins played intensely on the field- some playing soccer and some throwing the frisbees.

Two of the girls cabins had a tea party- everyone dressed in the finest dresses they could find in the drama building and enjoyed cake and lemonade on blankets while their counselors serenaded them with beautiful songs sung in an english accent. There were lots of pinkies in the air and even a toast!

After praise and worship tonight campers will head to the friendship circle for the FANTASTIC talent show! There are songs to be sung dances to be danced and lots of skits. It is sure to be an amazing show!!

We’re having a blast and we don’t want the week to end.

If you are coming to the parent ceremony tomorrow it will begin promptly at 1:00pm and last about an hour. The bus will be back to Roseville around 5pm.

We will see you tomorrow!!
