Thursday of Build/Demolish
What a fantastic day! Gorgeous weather tons of activities and happy campers everywhere!
This morning after our favorite breakfast (sausage egg and cheese biscuits) chapel (‘C’ of the day is community!) cabins each did an hour of activities- canoeing fishing talent show prep fire building and more. And then it was time to test our campers’ engineering skills- we gave each cabin mini marshmallows and spaghetti noodles and challenged them to build the tallest freestanding tower. Katherine and Xena’s cabin (B3) built the winning tower that was 30.5 inches!
The teen service group has been busy yesterday and today with two projects. Both mornings they have headed over to our neighbor camp (Camp New Hope) to help out with some brush clearing fixing the paths and helping out with their garden. At our camp in the afternoon they have been building a giant beautiful rosary garden. Campers will be able to walk through and pray which enjoying the beauty of the forest around them. It is a great project that will live on!
Lunch was chicken nuggets and tater tots and then it was a short rest and then it was back to individual activities where each activity was busy swimming canoeing playing sports finalizing plans for the dance and drama at the talent show tonight cooking apple pie over the campfire in cooking and making puppets in arts and crafts!
Dinner was super nachos and then it was time for some cabin free time. Cabins got ready for the talent show played with the camp dogs and had a HUGE game of ultimate frisbee.
After praise and worship tonight campers will head to the friendship circle for the FANTASTIC talent show! There are songs to be sung dances to be danced and lots of skits. It is sure to be an amazing show!!
