Thursday of Gameshow Mania Week

Our last full day of camp was possibly the best yet! What a great day!!

Breakfast was sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches and then it was time for morning chapel. Our ‘C’ of the day was community- which is fitting because throughout the week we’ve been using all of the C’s to build an awesome, fun, respectful and encouraging community. CYC is definitely the best place to be because of our community.

After breakfast, campers had fun in their activities, then we headed over to the Fire Circle to play a CYC Game Show Mania Week version of Fear Factor! Campers had to stick their feet into buckets of water, pour water on each others’ heads, eat “cat food” and more. It was buckets of fun! Then we played How Well do You Know Your Counselor! It was so much fun!

Lunch was meatball subs, salad bar, and fruit. Yummy yummy!

After lunch was an hour of rest time. Then, activities were in full swing. The drama group was busy rehearsing and perfecting their act for the big show, canoers/kayakers, paddle boaters and paddle boarders were enjoying paddling around the Big Sandy Lake, archery was hitting those bulls eyes and the sun came out in the afternoon and swimmers were LOVING the lake!

Dinner was turkey gravy, mashed potatoes, corn, bread rolls, and salad bar. It was super tastey.

After dinner we had “primetime” which gives campers time to visit the camp store, play gaga, play carpet ball, play on the field and just hang out. All of our busy fun activities are awesome, but primetime is definitely a favorite part of everyone’s day!

And after primetime was the much awaited CYC talent show! Our campers are super talented and it was great to see all of the talent this week. After the talents were performed, our counselors had a fun surprise for us. They lip synched and performed to different songs! This lip synching battle was intense!

A full day but we weren’t done yet! After chapel we had a recognition ceremony where each camper received a bead necklace representing one of the 5 Cs (courage, charity, community, cooperation and Christ). We listened to a story that explained the meaning of the 5 Cs and walked by torch light to the campfire circle to celebrate each camper. It was a powerful way to end our week.

Whew! What a great final full day of camp! We look forward to seeing the parents who are coming to our closing program tomorrow (which will begin at 1:15pm). Thank you for leaving your pets at home.

If your camper is riding the bus home, we will return to the Roseville Professional Center around 5pm.

"CYC to me is a fun, uplifting, and spiritual camp for kids of all ages. Every morning there I wake up with a smile on my face, and I am like “ YESSSSS I’m still here!!!” I never want to leave. CYC has outrageous counselors there that give courage to be yourself and to love and adore God!" - Isabel
