Olympic- Thursday

Our last full day of camp for the summer and we are making it count! We’re cramming as much fun as we can so that we can end the summer with a BANG!!

This morning campers were busy with cabin activities- fort building fishing sports and more! It was great to see our campers so enthusiastic and getting involved with trying new things encouraging each other and building new friendships.

Individual activities were also in full swing. The wind and rain have gone away and so canoers are canoeing fishers fishing artists crafting dancers dancing and so on.

This afternoon we came together as a community to celebrate mass. Father Sylvester from Our Lady of Grace in Edina has been our guest this week- hanging out participating in activities and having a blast! CYC is a special place because we combine fun AND faith. We are not just a community that plays together we are a community that PRAYS together.

After mass a delicious dinner and kapers (camp clean-up projects) we headed to the field for the final showdown in Olympic relays! Campers worked hard to be the cabin to keep a feather in the air the longest rock at balloon charades (run with a balloon between your legs pop the balloon and then act out the word that was written inside the balloon) three legged race and several other awesome and intense competitions! It was a battle of epic proportions!

As if we hadn’t already had enough fun we weren’t done yet! Tonight was the FANTASTIC talent show!!! CYC campers are by far the most talented kids around and the talent show was an amazing night of entertainment! We had singers dancers comedy skits and many jokes in between. It was a great night of sharing talents and having fun!

We’re still not sure which cabin will win the cabin spirit award so tomorrow morning will continue the cheering and final attempts to show off how proud each campers is to be part of their cabin. It is anyone’s game at this point so we are eager to see who will pull out the win!!!!!!

"Not once did I EVER hear put downs. And CYC is the best camp to be at!!! And I bet this year will be even better." - Isabel
