Monday of Games to the Max Week

It’s been pouring rain since 2am but we barely noticed because today has been a blast!

We started the day with scrambled eggs and bacon morning chapel introduced our ‘C’ of the day (cooperation) and then it was time for 2 hours of cabin activities. The cabins were busy with skits arts and crafts indoor 9 square marshmallow shooters (and a fun competition where campers tossed mini marshmallows into each others mouths!) building cardboard boats and practicing skits for the talen show later this week.

After the first two cabin activities cabins painted cabin flags and came up with cabin cheers. They also made gorgeous tie dye tee shirts that they will be wearing on Friday!

Lunch was sloppy joes and french fries and afterwards an hour of quiet rest time was just what everyone needed to recharge for the afternoon.

Because there was no end in sight to the steady rain we postponed starting individual activities and instead did some fun all camp activities in Sweeney Dining Hall. The first hour was a game called "Wanna Be Like Me". Campers had a variety of props and items brought from their cabins. They were given different people and things (such as pizza or counselor Abby or a puppy) and they had to dress up like that person/thing and imitate it. Our campers are pretty hilarious actors and actresses!

Afterwards we headed upstairs for some intense indoor relays (when you move the tables and chairs out of the dining hall you’d be surprised how much space there is!). There was an obstacle course there was a race to put on costumes there was dizzy bat (spin around and then run across the floor).

And then it was time to get crazy because CYC was filming a music video! Each cabin was given a section of the song "That’s What Makes You Beautiful" (One Direction) and the cabin had to choreograph a dance to that part of the song. Once they’d mastered their moves filming began. Even Camp Baby Xander got in on it. Tune in later this week to see our video!!

Dinner was ravioli garlic bread and salad (and lemon bars!). And then it was time for some entertainment! We happen to have the funniest most entertaining staff around and so it was time for Counselor Show! There were skits singing comedy and even some magic tricks!

After the show campers headed to the chapel for evening praise and worship and then it will be time for the fabulous dance party! Campers usually have to wait until Wednesday during the week to bust a move but instead tonight we will turn on the disco ball crank up the music and dance the night away.
