Day Three Thursday of Sampler Week

 Water games

Last night our fabulous campers participated in the all-camp favorite game of Angels and Demons (which the green team won by a NARROW margin of just 19 points!). We then had a dance party (which included Taylor Swift a few line dances and a disco ball) and the campers got to be around nine-thirty (and were they tired!). But the fun doesn’t stop on Wednesday here at CYC!!

This morning around ten campers will be divided up into teams on our all-purpose sporting field and given the opportunity to participate in some refreshing water relays. Teams will be asked to transport water from one bucket to another using a only a hole-filled cup toss water balloons back and forth and pass a "shower-head" (another bucket more holes) over their heads to complete another challenge. This is always a favorite activity and it couldn’t have come at a better time (last I checked the temperature was rising fast!).

Tug-o-war and the talent show

After water relays campers will be challenged in cabins to a game of tug-o-war only this game has a twist: it will be played over a giant mud pit. That’s right campers might end up a little bit dirty (who am I kidding? They’ll get be caked in mud!) — but there’s nothing to fear; this activity always ends with a cleansing all-camp swim in the lake.

Later tonight we’ll have our magnificent talent show and I’ve already heard rumors that there will be skits songs and even a unicycle! We’re all looking forward to the rest of the day. Some kids have even expressed a little sadness about having to leave so soon (tomorrow afternoon already!).

"What camp means to me is learning about God, making friends and having fun. But the most important thing is being yourself. We have lots of fun at camp. The counselors are great, the friends are nice, the themes are awesome, and the games rule! When I grow too old to come to camp I want to be a camp counselor, but for now, I will enjoy the fun at camp. See you this year!" - Josh
