Sunday of Teen Week

Teen week is here! Campers arrived excited and ready to be at camp! It was a HOT sunny day and we were excited to have campers join us! Everyone hopped off the bus and headed to our Friendship Circle for some songs and an exciting pepfest to introduce the CYC staff. And then it was time to divide into cabin groups. From there, campers grabbed their belongings and moved into their cabins.

Dinner was ravioli, broccoli, garlic bread, and rice krispie treats! Yum!

After dinner, it was just about to start raining, so we decided to change up the schedule a little. Instead of touring camp and playing “get to know ya” games, campers went to Indian Point Lodge to listen to clues they had to solve to find their color team head bands.

Then the rain arrived and so campers headed to Sweeney to play some games, eat some s’mores (fresh from the oven instead of a campfire), sing praise and worship songs, and hang out (which is what teens want to do anyway!).

We are super excited about this week, because the schedule is a little different than the rest of the weeks. Breakfast is pushed back to 9:15, which means they can sleep in, or they can take part in optional morning activities like run club, coffee and conversation, abs, morning prayer, etc. We’ve got so many special things planned for this week, it is going to be AWESOME!!

"What camp means to me is learning about God, making friends and having fun. But the most important thing is being yourself. We have lots of fun at camp. The counselors are great, the friends are nice, the themes are awesome, and the games rule! When I grow too old to come to camp I want to be a camp counselor, but for now, I will enjoy the fun at camp. See you this year!" - Josh
