Wednesday of Teen Takeover Week: Color Wars

What a crazy (but super fun) day at CYC! We are having so much fun this week! The weather was gorgeous and sunny! A perfect day to be at camp!

Breakfast was delicious – french toast sticks and sausage! The ‘C’ of the day was Christ.  We started the day celebrating mass. We are not just a community that PLAYS together, we are a community that PRAYS together. With the ‘C’ of the day being Christ, it was a nice opportunity to take a break from the crazy silly camp fun to remember what makes CYC such a special place. There are lots of camps out there but our community is rooted in faith and when campers come together for fun and friendship with faith at the center of everything, it makes for a place that has been exceptional for 70 years!

After mass, we had the chance to jump into the beloved CYC mud pit! The red team and the blue team even challenged each other to a game of tug of war! It was a lot of muddy fun.

Lunch was stuffed crust pizza, salad bar, and fruit. And then it was time for some rest time and afternoon activities. It was sunny and warm and we had a blast being outside and having fun.

Dinner was meat gravy and mashed potatoes with corn or green beans, salad bar, and fruit. Yum!Since it was such a warm sunny day and because we had SO much fun at the beach party yesterday, we decided to have another one tonight! After dinner, everyone headed down to the beach to splash and play and cool off.

After dinner, campers finished up working on their card board boats that will be raced tomorrow, enjoyed Primetime. After Primetime was our favorite camp game- Angels and Demons. We finally got to play, as it was rained out on Monday! For this game, campers are divided into two teams. Campers have to run through the forest and go to each of the three angels stationed throughout the woods. Campers get little scraps of paper signed at each station and once they have all 3 they bring it back and put it in their team bucket. Whichever team has the most at the end wins! BUT there are also demons scattered through the forest and if they tag the campers the campers have to give up their paper and try again. You have to be fast or you have to be clever to sneak around the demons. You might escape by saying a prayer, doing a dance, singing a song, or running really fast! Either way it is a blast and everyone loves this game!

After Angels and Demons, campers got to show off their exceptional talents at the Talent Show! It was such a great time!

Luckily we have another great day ahead of us tomorrow!

"What camp means to me is learning about God, making friends and having fun. But the most important thing is being yourself. We have lots of fun at camp. The counselors are great, the friends are nice, the themes are awesome, and the games rule! When I grow too old to come to camp I want to be a camp counselor, but for now, I will enjoy the fun at camp. See you this year!" - Josh
