Samplers are first time campers looking to learn more about camp in a 4 day/3night program. Samplers experience many of the same programs offered to our Settlers. Samplers will have the chance to try a variety of activities including Arts & Crafts, Swimming, Drama & Paddle Boats. Our staff creates a very unique experience that allows these first time campers try new challenges in a safe and supportive environment. Samplers have the option of extending to the full week.
Start your faith journey in our accepting, encouraging community. Sing, cheer and have lots of fun with friends. Enjoy all the basic activities, plus music, hiking, drama and more.
Take the next step in your camp journey. Group building and personal challenges are the main focus of this program. Experience the challenges, be at peace in the wilderness and truly appreciate God's gifts.
Step oustide of your comfort zone to experience God in nature and others. Work as a team with your friends in the wilderness of Northern Minnesota. Become confident enough to take risks that will help you define yourself.
LITs will spend the first week of their two-week stay developing their leadership skills, learning to lead camper activities and building their confidence through teambuilding and group development. During the second week, LITs will assist staff in leading camper groups and in program areas. Leaders-in-Training is a unique program that offers senior high students the opportunity to experience camp from a different perspective, while building skills they will use throughout their lives. LIT training does include one weekend at camp. LITs are encouraged to participate on the CYC Work Crew.
Work Crew is an excellent opportunity to stay involved in camp life while serving others. Earn service hours for Confirmation or various school programs or just because you want to give back to CYC. Either way you will make a difference. Your work crew will assist in the kitchen with meal prep and cleanup, help in the camp store, cut grass and help Rich & Natalie prepare for various camp programs. Work Crew members are welcome to ride the bus or provide their transportation. Work Crew members will go home over the weekend. Work Crew members are encouraged to consider the LIT program.
