Parents/Guardians - If you are having your child(ren) picked up by anyone other than you, please complete a Pick-Up/Release Authorization Form and return it to CYC at least 48 hours prior to the pick-up time. We cannot release a child to a person other than a legal parent/guardian without a completed and signed form.
This form is available from our Administrative Office in Roseville or can be downloaded and printed here: Pick-Up/Release Authorization Form. Sorry, but for everyone's safety we cannot accept phone messages or notes provided by the pick-up person at the pick-up point.
Mail for campers should be addressed in the following manner:
(e.g. [Festus Jones], [Settlers Session 2], CYC, 19590 520th Ln, McGregor MN 55760)
Camper phone use is limited to emergency use only as determined by the Executive Directors This applies to both incoming and outgoing calls.
We ask that campers do not bring ANY cash to camp (cash can be easily lost). Cash will not be accepted at the Camp Store except on Family Day.
Items such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, stuffed animals, and other souvenir merchandise along with note pads, envelopes, stamps, bug spray, water may be purchased at the Camp Store.
You can deposit money into Camp Store Account for your child by simply contacting our Registrar. It is suggested that campers have anywhere from $5 to $25 in their store account. Any unused balance will be returned to the camper at the end of the session. For your convenience, the Camp Store will be open on Family Day.
Please consider donating any unused balance to CYC's "Send a kid to camp" scholarship program!
CYC has a fully equipped Health Center that is staffed day and night by volunteer RN's, LPN's, or other licensed medical personnel. Nearly all of our staff is certified in first aid and CPR. Our camp is just 12 miles from the clinic in McGregor and 40 minutes from emergency room care in Aitkin. Our camp is served by First Responder units.
If a camper requires medical attention beyond the care of our Health Center staff, she/he will be taken to the nearest medical facility. Parents will be notified immediately. A copy of the camper's medical insurance card is required with the Health History form, as all medical costs incurred will be the responsibility of the camper's family.
Medications All medications must be listed on the Camp Health History form. Medications must be current, in the original container with the camper's name, the prescribing physician's name, the medication name, dosage and administration times. All medications will be turned into the Health Director during health screening on arrival day. For the protection of all campers at CYC, all medications will be stored in the Health Center. The Health Coordinator will dispense medications as directed.
PLEASE NOTE - The Health Center does stock non-prescription pain relievers, allergy medications, and topical lotions for rashes and minor abrasions. Non-prescription/over-the-counter medications will be provided and administered by the camp based on the camp's physician recommended treatment procedures. CYC discourages participants from bringing over-the-counter/non-prescription medications. When it is necessary to send over-the-counter/non-prescription medications, please have them in their original package/bottle and list them on the Camper Health History form.
If your child has been exposed to a communicable disease within two weeks of arrival at CYC, please notify CYC in writing immediately. For the protection of all members of the camp community, CYC does reserve the right to refuse admission to a child who exhibits symptoms of a communicable disease or other illness.

It is common and natural for new and returning campers to experience some feeling of missing home while attending camp. To reduce potential for this, CYC staff work hard to make sure that when each camper arrives, she/he feels comfortable and welcome and knows what will be happening the first day.
If your child shares a concern about missing home, let them know that those feelings are natural and okay, but try not to dwell on her/his concerns. Here are some tips to help reduce potential homesickness:
Parents can call camp at any time to check on their child's well being. However, direct phone contact with campers generally encourages and/or intensifies missing home. Camper phone use is limited to emergency use only as determined by the Executive Directors This applies to both incoming and outgoing calls.
